He was one of the five players named to the FIBA World Cup All-Star 5 Team, along with Purdue teammate Jaden Ivey, who competed for Team USA.

Shoe Size:

Leasider Zach Edey is 7’3″, has a wing span of 7’7″, and wears a size 20 shoe.

Zach Edey, a 7-4 freshman, is making an incredible first impression at Purdue. He is in post rotation with Travian Williams and gives opponents fists around the basket.

In his first week with the Boilermakers, he earned co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. He also earned respect in the final week of the regular season.

Wingspan:

Not many people on the planet could do what Purdue’s Zach Eddy accomplished so easily when a ball got stuck on the backboard during a Big Ten tournament game last season.

The crowd in Indianapolis caught a broomstick as 7-4,295-pound Eddie and used his 7-7 wingspan to pull out an object 13 feet off the floor.

Most players would have needed a ladder. Eddie is proof that size matters, but not just for keeping things out of reach.

Highlights:

Eddie has appeared in all 22 games for the No. 4 ranked Purdue basketball team, including 18 starts. The 7-foot-4 sophomore from Toronto, Ontario averaged 15 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists for the Boilermakers while clocking only 18.7 minutes per game on the floor.

He is second on the team in scoring and rebounds but leads Purdue with 1.2 blocks per game. Eddie ranks first in the entire NCAA in field goal percentage, hitting over 70% of his shots.
