Tom Brady Retirement Speech: Has Tom Brady Announced His Retirement?: While not mentioning the Patriots in his last message may garner some attention, it will never diminish what the two accomplished together. Tom Brady Retirement Announcement, Statement, Letter

By now, you’ve undoubtedly heard that Tom Brady did something. After 22 seasons in the NFL, the likely first-ballot Hall of Fame quarterback has announced his retirement. His resume is extensive enough to wrap around the Earth nine times, and his most recent triumph was leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to their first Super Bowl victory since the turn of the century.

As a result, it’s understandable that he’d make a point of mentioning them in his formal farewell message, but it’s who he didn’t include that has many people scratching their heads.

Brady does not mention the Patriots once in his eight-page dissertation, which was posted on Tuesday morning via his Instagram account, leaving many fans perplexed.

After all, he spent the first 20 years of his career in Boston, where he shared a longtime marriage with head coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft, the triumvirate winning six Super Bowls together and establishing him as an icon who was regarded as the GOAT before stepping foot in the warm waters of Central Florida.

It goes without saying that Brady doesn’t do anything inadvertently, and it was always conceivable that he’d send a distinct message to the Patriots, but to his credit, even if he didn’t/doesn’t, he technically has. On his way out of New England via free agency two offseasons ago, he made the following comment on Twitter.

Tom Brady Retirement Speech

“To my teammates, coaches, executives, and staff, as well as Coach Belichick, RKK, the Kraft family, and the whole company.” I’d want to express my gratitude for the previous 20 years of my life, as well as my everyday dedication to winning and building a winning culture based on great principles. I appreciate everything you’ve taught me; I’ve learned from everyone. You’ve all helped me reach my full potential, which is the best a player can aspire for. Everything we’ve done has brought me enormous delight, and the lessons I’ve learned will stay with me for the rest of my life.

“Without the relationships you’ve enabled me to form with you, I wouldn’t be the guy I am today.” I’ve benefitted from all you’ve provided me. Every chance I had to be a part of our team was valued, and I am grateful to you all for that. Our team has always set a high bar in professional sports, and I am certain that it will continue to do so. Despite the fact that my football career will lead me somewhere, I value everything we have accomplished and am grateful for our amazing TEAM achievements. I consider myself fortunate to have had the chance to meet every one of you and share the memories we’ve made together.”

With the Patriots commemorating him when he returns to Gillette Stadium in 2021, it’s difficult to think the two are still at odds. Despite the fact that the Patriots were not mentioned in Brady’s last farewell, Kraft went ahead and issued his own formal press statement congratulating his former quarterback on a spectacular NFL career.
