Deshaun Watson: Is in jail, Nfl trade deadline, Trade news
Is in jail:
According to the judicial ruling, it was announced that everyone who is suing Watson cannot remain anonymous. That being said, 21 plaintiffs agreed to continue with their names no longer being anonymous. One person who dropped her case said it was due to privacy and security concerns.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is the subject of 22 civil suits filed in March and April which accuse him of coercive and lewd sexual behavior, with two that allege sexual assault. He has not been charged criminally and his lawyer has denied the accusations.
Nfl trade deadline:
Deshaun Watson’s NFL playing career appears to be on hold until at least 2022.
Watson demanded a trade from the organization in January, prior to the filing of the civil lawsuits. He has not practiced with the team and has been inactive for all of the 1-7 Texans’ games this season.
The Miami Dolphins engaged in trade discussions with the Texans at various points and were the lone suitor for Watson in the run-up to the deadline, per multiple reports. Watson has a no-trade clause and had not indicated he would waive it for any other potential teams beyond Miami, according to multiple reports.
Trade news:
Amid a 1-7 start and rumors of a possible Watson deal, Dolphins coach Brian Flores repeatedly said that Tua Tagovailoa had secured his place as the team’s starting quarterback. Last Friday, Flores stated that, barring injury, Tagovailoa would remain the starter for the rest of the season.
