Boston Breach Emerges Victorious, Breaking Losing Streak in Call of Duty League Qualifiers

In a dramatic turn of events, the struggling Boston Breach clinched a vital victory during the qualifying rounds for the upcoming Call of Duty League’s Stage 1 Major. Breaking free from the bottom of the standings, Boston secured a decisive 3-0 sweep against the Toronto Ultra on Sunday.

Entering the day with a winless record of 0-3 and a challenging map win-loss differential of minus-6, Boston showcased a remarkable comeback, dominating the Ultra across three intense matchups. The victory unfolded on Terminal Hardpoint (250-195), Karachi Search and Destroy (6-3), and Highrise Control (3-0).

This defeat marked Toronto’s first loss in the qualifiers. As the dust settles, all 12 CDL teams are gearing up for seven qualifying matches in preparation for the Stage 1 Major, scheduled to take place from January 25-28 in Boston.

Sunday’s Other Matches Witness Sweeps

The intensity continued in the other matches on Sunday, with both encounters resulting in sweeps. OpTic Texas displayed dominance against the Carolina Royals Ravens, securing a flawless victory, while the Los Angeles Guerrillas silenced their rivals, the Los Angeles Thieves.

OpTic Texas set the tone with a commanding
250-129 victory on Skidrow Hardpoint, followed by a 6-2 triumph on Terminal Search and Destroy and a 3-0 success on Karachi Control.

The Los Angeles Guerrillas asserted their dominance from the start, securing a 226-182 decision on Sub Base Hardpoint. They continued their winning streak with a close 6-5 victory on Karachi Search and Destroy, ultimately sealing the deal with a convincing 3-0 drubbing on Highrise Control.

Qualifying action is poised to resume on January 13, featuring three anticipated matches:

  • Los Angeles Guerrillas vs. Atlanta FaZe
  • Seattle Surge vs. Toronto Ultra
  • Minnesota Rokkr vs. New York Subliners
