Rules:
Over the course of the Presidents Cup’s four days, there will be 30 matches. The competition began with 32 matches from 1994 to 2000 and reached 34 matches before appearing to enter the butter zone with 30 matches starting in 2015.
Each game is worth one point, and the team that accumulates 15 and a half points first wins. As opposed to the Ryder Cup, which only has 28 matches, this requires 14 points to win and 14 and 1/2 points to keep the cup.
If a match is tied after 18 holes, the outcome is just one half point to each side to keep things moving along instead of going to extra holes (they have two sessions of matches on Saturday, more on that in a bit).
