Just days before the Houston Texans’ 2022 training camp begins, a running back has been charged with burglary with intent to rape.

According to Harris County court records, Darius Anderson, a 24-year-old tailback on the Texans’ practice squad, was charged with a felony on July 15.

Further specifics about Anderson’s claims remain unknown. We’ve gone out to law police and Anderson’s attorney for comment, but have yet to hear back.

Meanwhile, the Texans issued a statement Monday night stating that they are aware of the allegations against their halfback.

“We are collecting information and have no more comment at this time,” the team stated.

Anderson, a former TCU standout, made his NFL debut in 2020 as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys. A few months later, he was released by the organization but signed with the Indianapolis Colts.

Anderson joined with the Texans’ practice squad in December 2021 after a brief stay with Indianapolis. He has not yet appeared in an NFL game.
