BMW Open Tennis 2022: The Bavarian International Tennis Championships is a men’s tennis tournament held at the MTTC Iphitos in Munich, Germany. Held since 1900, the tournament is played on outdoor clay courts and is a part of the ATP Tour schedule.

The ATP 250 claycourt tournament is one of the oldest events on the tour, with a bevy of stars among its past champions. World No. 3 and home favorite Alexander Zverev headlines this year’s draw.

The qualifying rounds in Munich will be held on Saturday and Sunday. The main draw action kicks off on Monday at 11 am local time, with the grand finale scheduled for 1 May.

Cristian Garin, Dan Evans, Miomir Kecmanovic and Botic van de Zandschulp round out the top-eight seeds. Also in the fray are Emil Ruusuvuori, Holger Rune, Maxime Cressy and former champion Philipp Kohlschreiber.

Prize Money:

The total prize money for the BMW Open is €597,900 while the prize money is €534,555.

Hamburg native Zverev won the Munich title in 2017 and 2018, but lost in the quarterfinals in his last two appearances. He is joined in the top half of the draw by seeded players Reilly Opelka, Christian Garin and Daniel Evans – a potential quarter-finalist.

Second seed Casper Rudd could face Marrakech finalist Alex Molkan in the second round, while Nikoloz Basilashvili and Miomir Kekmanovic could meet in the quarterfinals if there were seeds.
