Aaron Rodgers: Covid Test, Vaccine, Opt Out, Positive, Fund, Protocols
Covid Test:
Aaron Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 and is out for Green Bay’s showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported. Rodgers was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list and 2020 first-round pick Jordan Love will start in place of Rodgers.
Despite telling reporters in August he’d “been immunized,” Rodgers is not vaccinated against COVID-19, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported.
Vaccine:
Rodgers received homeopathic treatment from his personal doctor to raise his antibody levels and asked the NFLPA to review his status.
The players’ union, the NFL-NFLPA jointly designated infectious disease consultant and the league agreed that Rodgers’ treatment did not provide any documented protection from the coronavirus.
Opt Out:
After an offseason full of drama, Rodgers and the Packers came together before the start of training camp to reach an understanding.
He arrived at training camp on July 26 after NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the nine-time Pro Bowler told people close to him that he intended to play for the Packers in 2021.
Positive:
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 and won’t play in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Rodgers is not vaccinated for COVID-19 by NFL standards, a person with knowledge of the situation told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and thus will miss at least 10 days in accordance with the league’s protocols.
Fund:
Forbes’ Kurt reported the Green Bay Packers star partnered with two others to launch Rx3 Ventures, which has $50 million in its coffers to date.
“The fund expects to make investments in the $1 million to $3 million range going forward with a focus on established consumer brands,” Badenhausen wrote.
