Shane Warne, an Australian cricket great, has died in a bungalow on Koh Samui. Shane Warne, the Australian cricket star, greeted his Instagram followers “good night” from the Thai villa where he was residing just before his untimely death from a heart attack at the age of 52.

The father of three, one of the best leg spinners of all time, arrived in Thailand yesterday and was pictured smiling and mingling with fans at the airport on what appeared to be a guys’ vacation.

He is said to have died at the opulent Samujana Villas resort on the Thai island of Koh Samui. On his first night, he uploaded a photo of the resort’s infinity pool.

Following the death of Rod Marsh, his personal cricketing idol from the great Australian team of the 1970s, he tweeted for the last time roughly 11 hours later.

Warne’s death, which has shocked the cricket world, was confirmed by his management business, which stated that the sports great and father of three ‘could not be resuscitated’ despite paramedics’ best efforts.

‘It is with great regret that we inform you that Shane Keith Warne died away today, Friday, March 4, in Koh Samui, Thailand, of a suspected heart attack,’ said a statement from the management business.

‘Shane was found lifeless in his Villa and, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he was unable to be resuscitated,’ the statement continued. ‘At this time, the family begs privacy and will share further information as soon as possible.’

In 1993, Warne made history by bowling out Mike Gatting with the ‘Delivery of the Century,’ his maiden ball in Ashes cricket.

He went on to take 708 test wickets, wreaking havoc on teams all over the world, particularly Australia’s archrival England.

He earned a reputation as the sport’s blonde-haired, blue-eyed hero, a buccaneering bowler on the field and a playboy off it, known for his love of beer and smokes.

He was married to his childhood sweetheart Simone for 10 years, and they had three children together: Jackson, Summer, and Brooke.

After he was seen kissing Liz Hurley in 2010, the pair split in 2010. He had a hot and heavy affair with the model and actress, eventually becoming engaged before calling it quits three years later.

Their romance coincided with his losing weight and rumors that he had dabbled in cosmetic procedures such as botox.

He was playful on Instagram with Ms. Hurley only last year, almost eight years after their breakup, although he later denied they were back together.

He was most recently dating Instagram beauty Emily Sears, although he appears to have remained unmarried in recent years despite admitting to using dating apps.

‘His life is Tinder, drinks, darts, gambling, and cricket,’ claimed Triple M Sydney radio DJ Lawrence Mooney last year. That’s all there is to it.’

During his career, Warne was notorious for gaining weight, but he became much more image-conscious, even becoming the face of a hair transplant firm. He was on a health drive only a week ago, tweeting: ‘Operation shred has started (10 days in) & the aim by July is to get back to this form,’ posting a photo from a few years ago.

Despite his newfound leanness, many who knew him say he still enjoyed drinking and smoking, and he never ate vegetables. Former teammates and competitors alike were stunned by today’s announcement.
